How-to guides

Task-oriented guides for common UDS CLI operations. Each guide assumes you have UDS CLI installed and lists any cluster or registry prerequisites it needs.

Migrate a legacy bundle to NextConvert a uds-bundle.yaml and uds-config.yaml workflow into a UDS CLI Next bundle.

Use Bundle OverridesCustomize Helm chart values, variables, and namespaces in deployed Zarf packages, including uds-config.yaml and variable precedence rules.

Customize bundle initializationConfigure Zarf init registry, Git, artifact server, and storage settings with environment variables or uds-config.yaml.

Verify Keyless Package SignaturesConfigure Sigstore keyless verification for signed Zarf packages in a UDS bundle.

Next - Create a bundleDefine a Next mode bundle in HCL and create a signed or unsigned OCI artifact.

Next - Deploy a bundleDeploy a Next mode bundle from its definition or from a local or OCI artifact.

Next - Publish and pull a bundlePublish a Next mode artifact to an OCI registry and pull it for deployment.

Next - Reconfigure a bundleReplace environment-specific defaults without rebuilding package content.

Next - Inspect and verify a bundleInspect bundle metadata and verify artifact signatures with structured output.

Next - Remove a bundleRemove packages from a Kubernetes cluster using a Next mode bundle definition or artifact.

Next - Sign and verify bundle artifactsCreate, verify, publish, pull, and deploy signed UDS CLI Next bundle artifacts.

Use UDS RunnerAutomate bundle workflows using tasks.yaml. Run UDS and Zarf commands as tasks, set variables via environment variables, and leverage the built-in architecture variable.

Monitor a ClusterStream real-time Pepr admission and operator logs from a running UDS cluster to observe policy decisions, package processing, and errors.
